Welcome to the Pre-Health Advising Website

This Website will provide information and guidance to all Texas State students who would like to apply to any of the following types of professional schools:

  • medical (allopathic and osteopathic)
  • dental
  • physician assistant
  • optometry
  • podiatric medicine
  • chiropractic medicine
  • naturopathic medicine

We highly recommend that you contact one of the pre-health advisors and set up an appointment to discuss your career goals and the steps you should take to prepare to apply to these professional schools.

 PRE-HEALTH ADVISING APPOINTMENTS

Welcome to our Online Appointment Booking System

If this will be your first pre-health advising appointment, please follow these guidelines for determining your designated pre-health advisor.

If your student ID number (A05xxx) ends in an ODD number (13579), Dr. Nierth is your designated pre-health advisor. erica.nierth@txstate.edu

If your student ID number (A05xxx) ends in an EVEN number (02468), Dr. Banta is your designated pre-health advisor. marilyn.banta@txstate.edu

Dr. Banta is the designated JAMP Faculty Director (JFD) for Texas State. Those applying to or accepted to JAMP should meet with Dr. Banta, regardless of student ID number.

If you have been advised before, please book an appointment with the same advisor. Dr. Nierth is advising all students who advised previously with Dr. Pesthy.

Both Dr. Nierth and Dr. Banta offer in-person and Zoom appointments each week.
