Francis Rose Award Application

  • A laboratory position must be arranged prior to when you apply for this grant.
  • Applicants must have an interest in pursuing a career in some aspect of the biological sciences 
  • Applicants must have a faculty advisor to support their proposed research
  • Some research experience (whether in university coursework or work outside the university) is required
  • Awards in previous semesters or summers do not guarantee an award for the current year
  • A letter of recommendation is required from the faculty advisor. 
  • Applicants must write a 3-page grant proposal for the research they would like to perform. This proposal should be for $100-$1500. 
  • Applications are due by Monday, April 4, 2022.

Your 3 page grant proposal should include information about:
---The research you propose to perform.
---A brief explanation about why you wish to work in a research laboratory.
---If research involves vertebrate animals, animal welfare must be discussed.

---The timeline for doing the research.
---A budget for the materials you are requesting.
 budget justification explaining what you will do with these materials.
---The proposol should be for an amount between $100-$1500
